Our contract at Hinkley Point C is flourishing, presenting an exciting prospect within our Commercial team for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor. This multifaceted role offers ample room for personal development for the ideal candidate. What you’ll do
The main part of your job will be:
- managing change through CEMAR, ensuring adherence to contractual timescales
- ensuring timely production of Monthly Applications for Payment in accordance with the conditions of the contract
- providing commercial advice to the site team and management on all contractual issues
- overseeing supply chain management by drafting and issuing NEC3 subcontracts, ensuring clear communication of contractual obligations and terms.
- preparing internal contract valuations, ensuring accurate assessments of project costs and progress
- preparing monthly cost and value reports and present findings to senior management
- fostering effective communication with project managers, the managing QS and associated engineering disciplines
- compiling forecasts and attend forecast meetings, contributing to data-driven decision-making and proactive risk mitigation strategies
- supporting Contracts Managers and operational teams by offering sound commercial advice on projects, leveraging industry expertise and best practices
- mentoring junior members of the commercial team, facilitating their professional growth and knowledge transfer, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development
- Managing projects to maximise opportunities and minimise risk.
What you’ll need
To be successful, you’ll need:
- to possess an excellent understanding of NEC forms of contracts
- a relevant, degree level qualification
- excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and office packages
- the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ranging from £10k to £10m
- excellent commercial awareness
- to be driven and self-motivated
- experience in producing internal and external reports
- a nuclear, M&E or civils background – desirable
- experience working under TSC contracts – desirable
- relevant professional qualification (RICS/CICES) – desirable.
