Job Description

Why we are hiring for this role

We are growing rapidly (having achieved 100% growth in the current FY) and the requirement has arisen for a new Account Director to join us to support the Sales Director to develop new clients and support the future growth of the business.

The core objective of this role is to generate new sales revenues from either new or existing our clients whilst maintaining a balance between achieving sales targets and ensuring that customer expectations on cost, functionality and quality are met.  

A number of incoming sales leads will be provided to the successful applicant who also will be expected to qualify and close these leads whilst also generating additional new business leads through networking, proposition development and working with internal sales teams.  

The successful applicant will be provided with defined and structured on-going training, mentoring and career development by the Sales Director. Full training and coaching and will be provided how to utilise the Sales Process.

Key activities:

  • Qualifying new sales leads and opportunities following the sales qualification process
  • Utilising the Sales Process
  • Maintaining and updating customer information in the CRM application
  • Planning and organising personal sales strategies
  • Assisting in development of go to market propositions in conjunction with our Marketing team
  • Gaining a clear understanding of customers’ businesses and requirements
  • Working with pre-sales and technical consultants to agree a solution and presenting this to clients (with support from technical consultants)
  • Negotiating the terms of an agreement and closing sales 
  • Representing us at trade exhibitions and events 
  • Creating proposal documents and responding to RFP’s as part of a formal sales process 
  • Keeping up-to-date with trends and developments in the insight and analytics sector 
  • Updating technical knowledge and skills on a regular basis 
  • Focusing on effective time management

Reporting line 

This role reports directly to the Sales Director who will actively provide coaching, mentoring and training to the successful candidate

Qualifications

  • 5 years plus sales or pre-sales experience in the IT industry (Public Sector or Health sector experience desirable but not essential) 
  • Experience of partnering with Microsoft 
  • Strong education (ideally a graduate but not essential)
  • Aptitude for problem-solving; ability to determine solutions for customers focused on outcomes (consultative/outcome sales approach). 
  • Must be results-orientated and able to work both independently and within a team environment. 
  • Must possess excellent verbal and written communication
  • Experience of responding to complex RFP’s highly desirable.
